시공간은 이미지에서 드러난다. 이미지의 시대는 우리에게 수많은 기회와 함께 새로운 도전과 과제를 던져준다. 매일 쏟아지는 이미지들 속에서 우리는 때로는 제작자로, 때로는 소비자로, 때로는 도둑으로 그 흐름에 몸을 맡기고 있다. 내가 관심 있는 것은 단순히 이미지 자체가 아니다. 나는 이미지가 어떻게 교환되고, 어떻게 도둑질되며, 이러한 과정을 통해 어떠한 질서가 만들어지거나 무너지는지에 대해 알고 싶다. 도둑질이라 표현하지만, 이것이 마냥 나쁘다고도 좋다고도 정의할 수 없다. 발전에 기여할 수도 있고, 퇴보할 수도 있는 것이다. 나는 서로를 훔치고 도둑맞는 이 상황에 대해 서툴게나마 주목하고자 한다. 이러한 이미지 생산-교환-재생산 과정이 음침하고 의뭉스러워 보일 수 있지만, 사실 세상사 모든 것을 완벽하게 질서 정연하게 만들 수는 없는 법이다. 오히려 이런 떳떳하지 않은 상황 속에서 새로운 질서가 태어나기도 한다.
Images are the medium that best captures time and space. The age of images brings us countless opportunities along with new challenges and tasks. In the flood of daily images, we find ourselves sometimes as creators, sometimes as consumers, and sometimes as thieves, immersing ourselves in this flow. My interest lies not merely in the images themselves. I want to understand how images are exchanged, stolen, and how these processes create or dismantle order. While it can be described as theft, it cannot be definitively labeled as entirely good or bad. It can contribute to progress or lead to decline. I aim to shed light on this reciprocal theft, albeit clumsily. The production-exchange-reproduction process of images may appear shady and secretive, but we cannot make everything in the world perfectly orderly. Often, new orders emerge from such dubious circumstances.
